What to expect

A straightforward testing process

    Confirm the test order

    Tell us the DOT agency, testing reason, employer or consortium instructions and who is responsible for payment.

  2. 02

    Bring identification and documents

    Present a valid photo ID plus any electronic or paper authorization supplied by your employer or program administrator.

  3. 03

    Complete the regulated collection

    The collector explains the process, completes the custody-and-control documentation and prepares the specimen for the authorized laboratory.

  4. 04

    Results follow the authorized chain

    Results are released through the laboratory and Medical Review Officer process to the employer or other authorized party—not directly altered by the collection site.

Answers before you visit

Is a DOT drug test the same as a regular drug test?

No. DOT tests must remain separate from Non-DOT tests and follow 49 CFR Part 40 plus the applicable DOT agency rule.

What drugs are included in a DOT test?

The federal DOT panel covers marijuana metabolites, cocaine metabolites, amphetamines, opioids and phencyclidine (PCP).

Can an instant test be used for a DOT drug test?

No. Point-of-collection instant drug testing is not authorized for a DOT drug test. DOT specimens must follow the authorized laboratory process.

Do CDL drivers need a pre-employment DOT test?

An employer generally must receive a negative pre-employment drug-test result before allowing a covered CDL driver to perform safety-sensitive functions.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Most drug-test collections accept walk-ins during regular weekday hours. Call before coming for Saturday, mobile or after-hours service.
